Former Blockbuster Manager Feels More Than Qualified to Criticize BAFTA Winners

“Don’t get me wrong, “Oppenheimer” was good, but it did not deserve to win Best Film at the BAFTAs,” said 56-year-old Walter Babbitt with a fervency that befits his stature as a former Blockbuster Video manager.

“I’ve seen all the classics, “Cannonball Run”, “Cannonball Run II”, and don’t forget about the third and I feel the most unappreciated installment in the series, “Speed Zone,” which in my opinion was Jamie Farr’s best work. Talk about someone who should have won a BAFTA.”

Babbitt admits that he is probably in the minority when it comes to people who are actually qualified to critique the cinematic arts. He thanks his many years donning the blue and gold polo.

“They do the best they can over there across the pond, God love ’em,” said Babbitt. “But when they come in early during a blizzard to open up the store and watch 12 hours of the best M. Night Shyamalan has to offer, then come talk to me about who should win best film.”

Babbitt stated that he would love to continue expanding on his points, but he was on his way to a job interview at the DMV.
