Reading Rainbow host and beloved cultural icon, LeVar Burton is penning a new memoir titled “Behind the VISOR.” The new tell-all includes never-recounted stories from the star’s life and a rather shocking admission.
“I can’t tell you how many thirtysomethings stop me on a daily basis and tell me that they’ve learned how to read from me and ‘Reading Rainbow’ and quite frankly it makes me sick to my stomach,” said Burton.
The former Jeopardy guest host said teaching Millennials how to read is among his chief regrets. He even expanded upon the admission, saying he had long harbored a deep-seated hatred for those born between 1981 and 1996.
“They’re just so smug, ‘Look at me I’m too young to get your Star Trek: The Next Generation references’ I was Geordi fucking La Forge! Show some respect!”
The book is slated for a late Fall release to coincide with when most Millennials battle seasonal depression.
